I am a fullstack developer with more than 7 years of experience, specialising in Javascript/Typescript development - although I also have experience with Python, AI, and bioinformatics tools.
Throughout my career, I have acquired a wide range of technical expertise; from frontend development all the way to DevOps, databases, and deploying and managing AI.
In my last four years as a CIO, I have gathered extensive management and business strategy experience, including aligning development with client needs and enforcing security and data privacy.
Work
Chief Information Officer
Octoshrew Ltd.Octoshrew is a machine learning consultancy, where I helped small and medium businesses integrate AI functionality into their products. As the Chief Information Officer and Data Security and Privacy Lead, I led the web-technology and architecture side of things, ensuring our AI solutions ran smoothly, securely, reliably, and with a pleasant UX. Furthermore, I ensured that our security and data privacy processes were UK-GDPR compliant, ensuring safe operations for our clients.
Bioinformatician
Brainterst s.r.oBraintest is a bioinformatics company with a close working relationship with the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV). In collaboration with scientists from the Academy, I executed various analyses on biological data, including RNA, DNA, miRNA, proteins, and metabolics.
Freelance Fullstack Developer
During my studies, I worked as a freelance Fullstack developer. I focused on smaller, greenfield projects using modern web technologies. I learned professional communication with clients, writing and specification of requirements and laid the foundation for the skillset and professional network required to co-found Octoshrew.
Education
BSc in Programming & Bioinformatics
Maastricht UniversityMy degree focused on Programming & Bioinformatics, specifically in Neuroscience. My thesis at the Deparment of Bioinformatics @ Maastricht University focused on analysis of miRNA gathered from suicide completors, and constructing putative graph networks of interactions that could be potentially utilised for identifying at-risk individuals using the Neo4J graph database, and various custom analytic pipelines to integrate data from different available data sources.
